Village of Worth Beautification Committee

The purpose of the Beautification Committee assist the Village with ideas and activities that will enhance the appearance of the Village of Worth.

Beautification Committee will perform the following:
  • Organize a planting day to be held mid-May
  • Select plantings for Village flower pots, hanging pots, and Village signs
  • Monitor the conditions of flower pots, hanging pots, and village signs
  • Organize an award program for "Home Beautification Awards"
  • Provide fall decorations for Village entrance signs and the Village Hall with the assistance of Public Works
  • Purchase Christmas decorations for the commercial corridor, to be installed by Public Works

Home Award Program Outline

The committee members will select judges to judge the homes for this program. In the event judges cannot be delegated or decline, the commission will perform the judging.

A ballot box will be provided at the Village Hall. Ballots will be available for residents to nominate residents of the Village. A nomination does not guarantee an award. The nomination is only forwarded to the judges of the awards program.

Guidelines for Judging

Judging will consist of:
  • Landscaping maintenance, appearance, and organization
  • Neatness and maintenance of home
  • Homes will be judged on curb appeal only - the area visible from the street
  • Backyards and commercial buildings are ineligible
  • Award signs will be placed in front of the home accompanied by an award letter
  • Dates of judging and nomination deadline will be published on Village Hall sign and on water bills
  • A maximum of 30 awards, Village-wide, will be given out for this program
  • This outline will be presented to each judge prior to judging
