Dedication - Pride - Tradition

We look forward to serving residents of the "Friendly Village" of Worth and will strive to continue and improve our service to you. Should you have any needs or questions, please contact Chief Dan Russell or my staff at (708) 974-4474. I would like to take this opportunity and briefly explain what our fire district has to offer to you the resident.

The North Palos Fire Protection District is a separate government body, with 3 Trustees and a Fire Chief. We maintain three fire stations that serve the community in firefighting, advanced life support (paramedic service), hazardous materials and technical rescue specialty teams. In 57 years of service to the community, the District has grown by expanding programs and services. The District protects the communities of Palos Hills, Worth, a portion of Hickory Hills and a large area of the Cook County Forest Preserve; totaling a 15.5 square mile area and a population approaching 35,000 people. We anticipate responding to over 5,000 emergency calls this year.

The District is staffed by:
Chief Daniel Russell
Battalion Chiefs (3)
Lieutenants (9)
Engineers (9)
Firefighter/Paramedics (18)
Firefighters (30)
Administrative Assistant Gina Cirincione
Ambulance Billing Specialist (2)

The daily staffing of sixteen personnel each day is the same every day of the year! A Battalion Chief oversees the three stations and their daily operations. Each Station is staffed by: 1 Lieutenant, 1 Engineer, 2 Paramedic/Firefighters, 1 Part-Time Firefighter. Each station has a Paramedic Ambulance and Fire Apparatus which respond together on emergency calls.

The District is a member of Division 21 M.A.B.A.S. (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) which consists of 63 Division's encompassing over 1000 fire departments throughout the State of Illinois.

Fire Safety Tips

Babysitters should know the family's name, address of the home and how to contact the parents.

Babysitters should have the numbers for the Police & Fire departments and at least one number of a nearby neighbor that the family trusts.

Never leave a child unattended in a bathtub. Always test the water temperature before putting young children in the water.

Never set the water temperature on a water heater any higher than 120 degrees.

If the babysitter is unsure about something going on in or around the house,
call 911.
