| We look forward
to serving residents of the "Friendly Village" of
Worth and will strive to continue and improve our service
to you. Should you have any needs or questions, please
contact Chief Dan Russell or my staff
at (708) 974-4474. I would like to take this opportunity
and briefly explain what our fire district has to offer
to you the resident. |

|
| The North
Palos Fire Protection District is a separate government
body, with 3 Trustees and a Fire Chief. We maintain three
fire stations that serve the community in firefighting,
advanced life support (paramedic service), hazardous
materials and technical rescue specialty teams. In 57
years of service to the community, the District has grown
by expanding programs and services. The District protects
the communities of Palos Hills, Worth, a portion of Hickory
Hills and a large area of the Cook County Forest Preserve;
totaling a 15.5 square mile area and a population approaching
35,000 people. We anticipate responding to over 5,000
emergency calls this year. |

Fire
Safety Tips
Babysitters should know the family's
name, address of the home and how to contact the parents.
Babysitters
should have the numbers for the Police & Fire departments
and at least one number of a nearby neighbor that the
family trusts.
Never
leave a child unattended in a bathtub. Always test the
water temperature before putting young children in the
water.
Never
set the water temperature on a water heater any higher
than 120 degrees.
If
the babysitter is unsure about something going on in or
around the house,
call 911.
