Village of Worth Beautification Committee
Guidelines and Purpose
The purpose of the Beautification Committee is to review and recommend the aesthetic enhancement changes and seek ways to make the Village of Worth a more beautiful place to live.

The Beautification Committee will hold the following events throughout the year:


Spring Clean Up in conjunction with Nicor and the Life Safety Committee
• The Beautification Committee is responsible for organizing the event with the village hall and to assist in advertising/promotion of the event
• Providing refreshments for the event
• Providing a recommendation of flower colors for hangars, potted plants and sign entrance ways around the village
• Provide placement of stand along pots
• Monitor the plants once planted and “Adopt a Sign” to maintain throughout the year to keep it free from weeds and debris.
• Report any missing plants, foliage or vandalism to the Chairman
• This project should follow the deadlines set below:
• Plant Selection: December 1
• Clean Up Date Set: Jan 1
• Spring Clean Up held in May
• All recommendations are to be given to the Village Board for final approval

Home Beautification Judging
• This program is run by Committee members
• Members are given a section of homes to review and judge for overall beautification of the private property
• Rules and Regulations are presented in a separate packet
• This project should be completed by July 30
• Winning Homes will receive a unique sign to be placed in front of the home
• A member of the Committee will be designated to take photos of the winning home to promote the program and display the winners in the village hall.
• Winners list will be presented to the Village Board for recognition during a village board meeting in August

Fall Decorations:
• Fall decorations will be placed around the Village during or about the First week of October
• The committee should organize another fall clean up/winter clean up of flower beds to remove beds of debris and dead foliage
• Committee members will recommend mum purchase and designs along each entrance sign in town

Winter Decorations:
• Committee Members will make recommendations by October 1 if a purchase needs to be made for winter decorations
• Plans for stand alone pots need to be submitted by the first meeting of November


Members should be aware of the following holidays
• Veteran’s Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July, Worth Days, Memorial Day for placement of flags throughout town

• Any other plans outside of this schedule must be submitted to the committee Chairman in writing.
