Child Safety Seat Inspections

The Village of Worth Police Department
will always be concerned with the well being of our children.

State law provides:

Children being transported in a motor vehicle who are under the age of 8 years must be transported only in a child restraint system meeting the standards of the United States Department of Transportation.

Children transported in a motor vehicle who are 8 years of age or more, must be secured in a certified child restraint system or a seatbelt.

Passengers of 16 or 17 years of age must be restrained in a safety belt when the driver of the vehicle they are riding in is under 18 years of age.

Members of the Worth Police Department do stop and enforce child restraint systems as well as the regular use of seatbelts checks.

Officer Koehler and Officer Ramos are Certified Car Seat Technicians and a members of the South Suburban Carseat Safety Coalition. For inspections of your child seat or instructions on how to properly install this equipment please call 448-3979, and an appointment will be made for you.
