School Crossing Guard Program


NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

The Worth Police Department employs the school crossing guards who are responsible for crossing children at three elementary schools within the village. The crossing guards primary duty is to see that children cross the street in marked crosswalks and in a manner that provides for their maximum safety. Alternate crossing guards are used on an on-call basis to cover crossings when the regular guard is off.

Qualifications:


Be 18 years or older
Not have been convicted of a criminal offense
Be physically capable of performing the activities provided for this position

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To safely cross all school age children
Regulate traffic at the crossing

CROSSING LOCATIONS AND TIMES:


Punctuality is of paramount importance to ensure the safe passage of children going to and from school at approved locations on all school days at the designated times.
