Senior Watch Program
The Village of Worth Police Department's Senior Watch Program will provide a daily health and well being check for residents enrolled in the program. Participants are required to call the Worth Police Department Police Department by 10:00am everyday at (708) 448-3979. The Department will call participants who fail to call by 10:00am. In the event that the Department is unable to make contact, a police officer will knock on the door, if there is no response, will enter the home. A key must be provided by the participant or a contact number of a key holder. The police will provide assistance to the participant as needed due to medical emergencies or accidents.
Persons eligible to participate in the program must be Village of Worth residents, (62 or older, or 55 years of age and disabled, with a life threatening illness or injury) and fill out an application form. Participants shall provide the Police Department with a house key, or a contact number of a key holder. All information provided is confidential.
In order for the program to run in an effective manner, it is important for participants to be consistent in making their daily phone calls. Participants not home for extended periods due to vacations, hospitals stays, etc. should notify the police department immediately of the dates they will be gone and call in again when they have returned home
This program is intended to provide residents living alone with a sense of security and confidence that assistance is coming should they become incapacitated. If you or your families have questions about this program, call the Worth Police Department Records Division at 708-923-7516
