Go Trick-or-Treating with a grownup.

Watch for traffic.

Carry a flashlight

Stay within the neighborhood and only visit homes you know.

Don't eat treats until you show them to your parents
or a trusted adult.


Wear light-colored clothing that's short enough to prevent tripping
add reflective tape to the sides, front and back of costume.

Do not approach strange vehicles or strange people offering candy.

Avoid hard plastic or wood props such as daggers or swords.
Substitute with foam or rubber that is soft and flexible

Younger children should go out during daylight hours.

Make sure children can see well through face masks,
or use cosmetics to create fun or scary faces.

Only give and accept wrapped or packaged candy.

Keep costumed children away from pets.
(Pets may not recognize costumed children)

Examine all candy before allowing children to eat it.

Know the route your kids will be taking if you aren't going with them.

Let them know that they are to check in with you by phone.
