The Village of Worth Neighbor In Need program is a free service offered
to those that are in need of basic yard work. Volunteers are made
up of all ages and may include community service groups with adult
supervision. We ask you to remember they are not experts in lawn
care and range in age and areas of expertise. This is a learning
experience for all.
A supervisor, assigned to your home, will review your application and
contact you for your scheduled visit. They will discuss the work to be
done and review any questions you may have about the program. A student/volunteer
will then be assigned to your home. The supervisor will then make periodic
check-ups to ensure the student / volunteer is doing the work requested.
|
Homeowners
are required to be home when the volunteers are doing yard
work.
Student / volunteers are NOT allowed to do any work involving climbing
ladders or using power tools
other than a lawn mower or snow blower.
The student / volunteer are only allowed to work outside the home.
Yard waste bags or containers are to be supplied by the homeowner.
Owner must be sure that all equipment is in working order and has gas
and oil.
All volunteers and participants will undergo reference checks.
|
| Please remember that
this program is NOT perfect. However, we ill strive to do our
best to fulfill our purpose of helping Neighbor In Need. We
encourage the homeowners to share information on how best to
do the job. The students / volunteers are not only there to
help, but to learn. If you notice something is being done incorrectly,
please notify your area supervisor or the Village Hall. |
