The
Village of Worth is governed by a President, Clerk, and six
Trustees who meet twice a month in Village Board Meetings to
approve ordinances and resolutions, discuss new programs, vote
to pay obligations, and to hear comments from the residents.
The Village President is the chief executive officer and the
Board of Trustees is the legislative body. The Clerk is the
official keeper of the Village Seal and all the Village Records.
All are elected to four year terms and local elections are
held every two years in April.
Most
of the work by the Village Board is done in committees that report
to the full Board of Trustees. All committees of the Village
Board are "committees of the whole" meaning that all
six trustees serve on each committee with a trustee serving as
the chairman of each committee.
Village Board meetings are held in the Village Hall located at 7112 W.
111th Street. Regular Board meetings are held on the first and third
Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Exceptions are holidays and other special
circumstances. An annual meeting schedule is posted at the Village Hall
and can also be found on this website. These meetings are open to the
public and all residents are encouraged to attend.
The Village of Worth prides on the friendly people who live here and
the services provided by the police, fire and public works departments.
We truly are "The Friendly Village."
Worth is divided between two congressional districts. Most of the village
